About ‘W02, Double Vision’ by Niklas Steffen

Two figures stand side by side, one as a clear presence, the other like a muted reflection or afterimage. Both wear a severe, geometric bob hairstyle that looks like a helmet. Only at second glance do the fine details become apparent: the transparent layer of fabric over the shoulders and arms, the calm gradation of the dark areas in the dress, and the hard, shiny accent of the belt, which breaks the softness of the texture. The wall structure in the background is also deliberately reduced, appearing more like a quiet room than a backdrop.

The atmosphere is cool, calm, controlled. Not sterile, more like a quiet room with subdued lighting, where everything is half a tone quieter.

For me, it's about identity as an overlay: the version you show and the one that remains. The "second figure" is not a copy, but an echo, like a memory or self-image. The work does not tell a story, it captures a state.

W02 acts as a calming influence with a clear design language. It fits very well with modern, minimalist interiors because the composition is strict, but the colour scheme remains soft enough not to appear harsh.

The double motif makes it work well on larger wall surfaces because it not only shows a face, but also creates a relationship within the pictorial space. It is particularly harmonious in rooms where order and clarity are sought (work areas, hallways, quiet living rooms) without becoming decoratively arbitrary.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
