About ‘Vlissingen harbour head’ by MSP Canvas

A harbourhead is a pier of a harbour or the end of a harbour dam that runs into the sea. A harbour dam is a construction intended to shield part of a large water so that a sheltered place for the ships is created within it.

A harbor pier can run several tens of meters to several kilometers into the sea. They extend from land into the sea and are built to allow ships to sail safely and quietly into and out of the harbour. They often stand on two sides of the harbour mouth. They can consist of a heavy stone dam or a wooden construction. This wooden construction is called a palisade. In storms, the breakwaters break the high waves and the length of the piers can be chosen in such a way that the harbour entrance is shielded from wave action and at the same time to keep the accumulation of dredging to a minimum.

Port lights are usually placed on the end of a pier, in the form of light stands and sometimes a lighthouse.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
