From the top of Table Mountain, on clear days, you have a view that never gets boring. This photo shows Lions Head, one of Cape Town's most iconic mountains, captured with a telephoto lens that beautifully compresses the landscape. This choice makes the rock seem even more prominent and powerful in the picture, detached from the city, detached from crowds. Here, everything is about form, colour and tranquillity.

What makes this composition special for me is the isolation of the subject. The green leaves in the foreground are deliberately left vague in the picture. They subtly frame the landscape and automatically draw your gaze to the peak of Lions Head. The soft bokeh effect creates depth without distracting from the main subject. This visual tranquillity also makes the image very suitable as wall decoration.

The sky is missing in this crop. Instead, the mountain stands out powerfully against the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean. This choice enhances the sense of height and makes the image minimalist, almost graphic. The colours are natural but contrasting: stony grey against vibrant blue and soft green accents in the foreground.
