Eagum, misspelled as Aegum in Dutch, is one of the smallest villages in Friesland. It is a mound village south of the Groote Wargastermeer, which was drained in 1833. It is connected to the Eagumerdiep, a wide waterway from Leeuwarden to Grou, by a short canal.
