At the top of the Peñón de Ifach there are fantastic views towards the Mediterranean Sea and the coastal town of Calpe with its marina. It is a wonderful place to get a bird's eye view of the Costa Blanca. For this reason, the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is one of my favorite destinations in the Alicante province. At the summit, which is 332 meters above sea level, the clocks seem to tick a little more slowly.
I particularly like the blue of the sea water in combination with the bright colors of the urban architecture and the white sailing boats. I like to hike up the Peñón de Ifach to enjoy the relaxing ambience in the natural park and to see the city of Calpe from above. On a sunny day on the Mediterranean coast.
The Peñón de Ifach Natural Park is the symbol of Calpe. Due to its exposed location, it attracts many visitors because it offers excellent vantage points on the coast. It has fascinated people for a very long time. Archaeological finds at the foot of the mountain prove this fact. In past eras, local people used the mountain as an observation post. Thus, the Peñón de Ifach was an important part of a defense system to protect the Valencian coast from pirates. Today it is a popular travel destination for hikers and climbers.
This photograph is destined to bring some of the charm of the seaside town of Calpe and its landmark, the Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac), into your home.
