View towards Calpe. The touristy coastal town of Calpe and its landmark, the Peñón de Ifach, can be recognised behind the treetops. The rock rises majestically from the sea and has a characteristic shape, especially with its steep cliffs on the south face. The Peñón de Ifach is the smallest nature reserve on the Spanish mainland, but is also a popular destination for hiking and climbing.
Hiking in the Sierra de Oltà offers wonderful views of the Mediterranean coast, with the urban architecture forming a contrast to the natural surroundings. The bustling city is surrounded by the blue tones of the Mediterranean and a fantastic mountain landscape. This photo is dedicated to the view of the blue Mediterranean and the city centre of Calpe with its high-rise buildings.  
My work is inspired by long hikes on remote mountain trails in the province of Alicante in Spain. When I hike in the Sierra de Oltà and let my gaze wander into the distance, the clocks seem to tick a little slower. I particularly like the fact that you can see both the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding mountains. This photo is designed to bring some of the charm of the coastal town of Calpe and its landmark into your home.
