The Berlin Palace (colloquially: City Palace) is located on the Spree Island in the historic centre of Berlin. Partially burnt out at the end of the Second World War in 1945, the palace was demolished in the GDR in 1950 despite international protests. Following the private commitment of the Berlin Palace Friends' Association and other initiators and a decision by the German Bundestag, the palace was rebuilt between 2013 and 2020.
At 368 metres, the Berlin television tower is the tallest building in Germany and the fourth tallest television tower in Europe. When it was completed in 1969, it was the second tallest television tower in the world.
The Berlin Cathedral at the Lustgarten on Museum Island is a Protestant church in the Mitte district of Berlin. Built between 1894 and 1905 according to designs by Julius Raschdorff in the neo-Renaissance and neo-Baroque style, the monument is the largest Protestant church in Germany in terms of area and one of the most important dynastic burial sites in Europe.
