About "Urban Ghost - Snow Leopard in the Concrete Jungle"

About the artwork

With icy blue eyes, the snow leopard pierces the viewer as if it were looking straight through the canvas - alert, dignified, determined. Stefanie Gendera's work plays with strong contrasts: the elegant leopard, painted in a reduced black and white aesthetic, appears almost ghostly, as if it does not belong in this garish, chaotic world. And that is probably precisely the message.

An apocalyptic-looking urban backdrop spreads out in the background: Graffiti walls, colourful splashes of paint, a man in a gas mask - a symbol of environmental destruction, alienation and the consequences of human greed. The clear, stylised depiction of the animal stands in sharp contrast to the gloomy chaos around it. The graffiti tags at the bottom of the picture reveal the year it was created: 2018, but the topic is more topical than ever.

Gendera's image brings the vulnerable beauty of one of the most endangered big cats into a context that is loud and uncomfortable. The snow leopard symbolises the loss of wilderness - and the question: how much space do we still leave for the wild, the free, the untouched?

A work that is both aesthetically captivating and socially stirring - combining animal portraiture, street art and social criticism in a unique way.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
