About ‘Unposed’ by Nicolaas Ranzijn

An intimate figurative work in which tranquillity and vulnerability take centre stage. The reclining figure is not posing, but appears to be caught in an unguarded moment of relaxation. It is precisely this sense of naturalness that lends the painting a serene beauty and invites the viewer to slow down for a moment.

Using transparent layers of paint, loose brushstrokes and a soft colour palette of earth tones, greens and subtle shades of pink, Nicolaas Ranzijn creates an atmospheric composition in which form takes precedence over detail. The surrounding flowers, fabrics and furniture almost dissolve into the painterly gesture, allowing the figure to become a natural part of her surroundings.

A poetic work that looks stunning in bedrooms, dressing rooms, bathrooms and living rooms, whilst also making a serene addition to modern, Scandinavian, country-style and artistic interiors where tranquillity and refinement come together.

Nicolaas Ranzijn (1928–2003) was an artist from Alkmaar. He produced a diverse body of work comprising paintings and other visual artworks, and exhibited his work. His expressive style, free brushwork and distinctive use of colour mean that his work remains instantly recognisable and timeless.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
