Ice diving was always a dream of mine, when I got the opportunity to do this in Iceland my day could not fail. Silfra is Iceland's most famous diving spot but it doesn't freeze because it is constantly moving. If you drive a little further into the nature park by car, there is a place called DAVÍÐSGJÁ. Here, water comes out of the ground from a Gladsier and slowly swims itself to the lake. In winter, the lake freezes but the current does not so you swim from unfrozen water to the big lake which is frozen. You can see this separation perfectly here in the photo and it gives a fantastic reflection underwater. When I dive underwater I feel peace and calmness and I think this photo radiates this perfectly. It would fit so perfectly in the living room , bedroom or bathroom. The colours blue and dark brown give a calmness when you look at the picture. Diving in Iceland in winter is a task , first you have to put on all the underwear , then the dry suit , the camera has to be put in the underwater housing and then it's a 10-minute walk to the dive site where you jump into the water which is 2 degrees ! The average person doesn't see this which makes it extra special to hang up in your house.
