A still life in a hushed Italian side street. An ordinary white wall has been transformed by its occupant into a geometrically ordered pattern of shapes, colours and materials.
The cable and lighting does not dissonate, but rather adds framing and visual anchorage, which also gives the work scale and reality.
I literally found my inspiration on the street. But in fact, this work builds on my interest in form and colours, which is also reflected in my black-and-white photography.
'Tricolore Italia' combines the sunshine of Mediterranean Italy with the sleekness of modern design and the coolness of white.
This picture looks great in a modern interior where a colour accent is welcome. A kitchen, dining room or restaurant could be good places for this particular photograph.
The photo also provides food for thought: what can you make with these ingredients? Why was this particular arrangement of colours and materials chosen? How would you have filled in the street scene? Do you have other ingredients that you think would be better suited to Italian cuisine?
