A tribute to Sonia Delaunay (1885-1979) she was a Ukrainian-French artist, besides painting she also designed textiles and scenery and was known for the use of geometric abstraction in her work. This is illustrated in "Rythme", an oil painting by her made in 1938 and characterized by circles and curves of vivid colors. She developed the simultanism, this was a color theory based on scientific research, which showed that some colors seem to have a different color next to each other or that the combination of colors can cause an appearance of movement.
