A tribute to Georges-Pierre Seurat (1859-1891) he was a French painter and draughtsman. His work belongs
belongs to pointillism, a painting style within impressionism. Together he was the founder of 19th-century neo-impressionism. He devoted himself to the theoretical foundations of colour. His technique of rendering light by using small brushstrokes of contrasting colors became known as divisionism (color division). A less correct name is Pointilism, as this refers more to the technique of application. His theory that the small dots, seen from some distance, blend into the eye of the beholder.
