When there is a lot of rain, the streams of the Drentsche Aa sometimes step outside the banks. This is an oil painting style treatment of the Deurzerdiep, with bare trees that normally are not on the waterfront. Only when it rains heavily, a large area near Deurze is flooded. The sun occasionally shines between the clouds and gives atmosphere to the ancient landscape.
Karla Leeftink prefers to photograph in the peace and quiet of early mornings with a hint of mysterious mist.
