This photo, of a lonely tree along the side of the road in the Dutch province of Groningen, I took a long time ago, in January 2012. On a cold but beautiful winter day I walked with friends from Uithuizen to Loppersum.
It was one of the first photos I placed in my webshop and over the years it also turned out to be the most popular, best-selling photo. Apparently the image of such a sturdy tree in the flat Groningen countryside struck a chord with many people.
Research on Google Earth shows that the tree is no longer there; reason unknown. But it lives on on the walls of countless living rooms...
My work can be found in the border regions of photography, painting and computer visuals. With my company 3Develop I do work in commission but I use the same techniques, skills and software to make free work.
