The tree frog is found in a large part of Europe and is the only species from the tree frog family found in Belgium and the Netherlands. The frog lives on open sunlit spots in relatively dense and rather humid biotopes in the vicinity of water. It is a tree-dwelling species that lives between the foliage. The food consists of various invertebrates like insects and the frog has various enemies like birds and mammals.
