The tree frog or European tree frog (Hyla arborea) is a frog in the family tree frogs (Hylidae).
The tree frog can be found in a large part of Europe and is the only species in the tree frog family that occurs in Belgium and the Netherlands. The frog lives in open sunlit places in relatively densely vegetated and fairly humid biotopes near water. It's a tree dwelling species that lives among the foliage. The food consists of various invertebrates such as insects and the frog has various enemies such as birds and mammals. The tree frog is threatened in part of its range by a variety of human activities.
