This picture titled 'The Citadel' shows the most famous mountain in the Italian Dolomites, Tre Cime di Lavaredo or Drei Zinnen (2999m) in German. This mountain is located in the area of Sexten in north-east Italy.
The photo was taken on a stormy evening and almost completely enveloped in a spinning mass of clouds. With another plume of clouds at the summit.
To the left behind the mountain, part of Cadini di Misurina (2839m) can still be seen. Also called the Mordor mountain. And to the right, behind the mountain, the lesser-known but equally large mountain Croda Rossa d'Ampezzo, measuring no less than 3146 metres.
The area in the photo looks almost surreal. Look and shiver!
