In late autumn, when the year quietly exhales and the forest fades into a whisper of colour, the moor pond near Oberstdorf lies like a silent memory of the past months. The water, smooth as glass, holds the sky and preserves the last golden sparks of autumn, as if to protect them from the approaching winter.
On the opposite bank, the trees are crowded together, their crowns partly bare and partly still glowing with a warm yellow colour. The larches glow like flames in the cool air, while the dark spruces behind them keep silent watch. Their reflection in the pond is softly coloured, a painting of flowing lines and muted tones.
The ground, covered in damp leaves, carries the scent of earth and farewell. The sun, low in the sky, glides over the trunks and bushes like a delicate brush and makes the scene glow - a final triumph of colour before nature retreats.
Here, in the Oberallgäu, time seems to stand still for a moment. The moorland pond breathes peace, and every breath of wind tells of transience and at the same time of the promise of a new spring. Late autumn thus becomes a poetic in-between world, gentle and full of quiet beauty.
