Tranquillity in warm colours: Natural close-up

by Marjolijn van den Berg

This photo: "Tranquillity in warm colours: Natural close-up" is a macro photo of a single dandelion fluff lying on a surface with water droplets. Very small water droplets also hang from the fluff itself. The warm brown tones with the beige/cream tones give it a warm autumnal feel.
Because of the chosen viewpoint, the viewer stands "eye-to-eye" with the fluff and sees the moment of stillness of the beauty of this simple scene. This work brings a fresh, calm atmosphere into the home, ideal for those looking for a wall decoration that depicts natural tranquillity.

The dandelion fluff symbolises hope, abandonment but also the spreading of wishes. This picture radiates something of simplicity and purity but at the same time something of fragility and transience. An eye-catcher that brings nature inside as a wall decoration.
When taking this photo, I chose a fairly shallow depth of field, creating a sense of depth in the photo and also giving it a calm atmosphere.
The Dandelion fluff is lying on a surface with small water droplets and therefore you can see reflections in the droplets and the ground and background take on a colour of mixed shades, with some parts being sharp and you can see the droplets lying down and some parts the droplets are faded to an abstract rendering or even almost faded to a fairly even colour.
