About ‘Tram Little Princess statue Budapest’ by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

The Little Princess statue is one of the most iconic public artworks in Budapest, Hungary. Created by Hungarian sculptor László Marton in 1972, the statue stands on the promenade along the Danube, near the tram rails on the Pest side of the city.

The Little Princess depicts a young girl sitting on a fence, with a crown on her head. The crown was inspired by a paper hat Marton's daughter wore when she played. The sculpture exudes a sense of youthfulness, fantasy and freedom, symbolising the playful nature of childhood.

The original statue was placed on the Dunakorzó, a popular promenade along the Danube. The location offers great views of Buda Castle, the Fishermen's Bastion, Matthias Church, Chain Bridge, and the Danube, making the statue a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.

The statue has a small but symbolic scale, making it intimate and inviting. Many visitors take photos of or with the statue, and it is often considered one of Budapest's hidden gems.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
