This is the Torenpleinkerk in Vleuten. Although Vleuten is officially part of Utrecht, it has retained a village-like core with low-rise buildings and historic buildings. This is one of them.
The Torenpleinkerk is dedicated to Willibrord and built in late Gothic style: the tower was built in the 13th century. In 1831, the tower became detached from the church due to works, but it was restored during a renovation between 1969 and 1971. The Torenpleinkerk belongs to the Protestant Community of Vleuten and is located at the Torenplein, on the corner of Schoolstraat and Hindersteinlaan.
I liked this image, the little houses next to the church itself. The whole thing did have a historical allure, I thought.
This image was taken on February 12, 2019, and is part of the Modern History series.
