About ‘Timmendorf on Poel’ by Holger Felix

Whenever I'm on the Baltic Sea island of Poel, I'm always drawn to the island harbour in Timmendorf. The sight of the lighthouse, which was built in 1872, inspires me. I love this beacon, which is twenty-one metres high and shows ships the way into the Bay of Wismar. And then I also love the many fishing boats and cutters that land the fresh fish here. It is a place of tranquillity, where the only sounds are the seagulls with their screaming calls and the wind.

This photograph radiates tranquillity. I would actually place it in my bedroom or even in the bathroom, perhaps together with holiday memories from the seashore, such as chicken gods, driftwood or a shiny amber. I recommend a canvas with a shadow gap frame measuring 120 x 80.
