This photo is a moment I captured during my trip. You can see an old church in the background, and in the foreground a spiral staircase that totally catches the eye. The church must have been through centuries, but the staircase looks like something of today, something you can just take up, to who knows where. I feel it is a very nice contrast, something old and something new, yet so good together.
When I saw this, I just thought, "This is how life works." You have the past, something that always remains, and at the same time you keep going, always moving, always looking for something new. This picture reminds me that we live in the now, but we always carry a piece of the past with us.
No matter where you are in life, whether you look to the future or cling to what has been, what matters is that you keep going. This picture captures that feeling. And maybe, looking at the stairs, you just want to step up and discover what's up there.
