A thunderstorm against the northern side of the Pyrenees makes for a nice scene towards the end of a warm day. At dusk, just enough light remains to see details in the foreground. The flat hinterland of Les Landes offers exceptionally few obstacles to capture this shower from a good 100 kilometres away. Only a few of the electrical discharges visible at the edge of the squall find their way to the earth's surface. The forests take away visibility below the squall so the only discharges visible here take place within the squall itself. Above the shower, the first stars of the night become nicely visible.
