One of the offices in the Central Market Hall in Amsterdam at the Jan van Galenstraat. In 1934, this building was built under the name Central Market. The market was not open to the public. It was intended as a wholesale market, where shops and market merchants get their goods. In the Central Market Hall, form, function and beauty come together: the efficient design is combined with beautiful proportions in symmetry, uniformity, rhythm and repetition. For that time modern materials such as precast concrete and HD Metal (Steel) are combined with traditional brickwork and traditional design.
