About ‘There's the sun’ by Lex Schulte

Sunrise over the Zwarte Brekken, near SNeek, Friesland. After a cold night, fog hung over the water. The sun was quickly getting stronger and trying to burn through the fog. A great start to a beautiful day! If it was not so cold you would want to jump off the dock.
The Zwarte Brekken forms together with the Witte Brekken a Natura 2000 area. A beautiful area of water, summer polders, morass zones and grasslands. Partly quarried for peat extraction and partly swept away by floods. Brekken are shallow lakes largely created by the floods.
A small campsite just below Sneek offers the opportunity to enjoy this landscape. Because of this I was there early and could enjoy the beautiful light and the view over the water. What beautiful views Friesland can offer.
