When I travel in the mountains, I am fascinated by rock faces and structures of the rock. Over very long periods of time they have been shaped by Mother Nature through water, wind and solar radiation.
Seen from a distance or even up close, the surface of rocks marked by erosion brings out interesting patterns. The hard, rough surface of the rock bears the marks of time. It stands for stability and at the same time for the permanent change in nature.
I have dedicated a series of photographs and photo collages to the rock formations. In my opinion, they show the subtle beauty of nature, which existed long before man - and hopefully will continue to exist for a very long time. Structures of rock meet symmetry. A detail shot becomes an abstract rock landscape.
