View of the Lauwersmeer in the north of the Netherlands from the small lighthouse near the port of Oostmahorn. However, this Wadden Sea beacon never had the function of a lighthouse, but serves as a gauge for the water level in the Lauwersmeer now, and
in the Lauwerszee in the past. This small and unusual tower does look beautiful and provides many photogenic pictures from the beautiful area around the Lauwersmeer in the provinces of Friesland and Groningen. Oostmahorn is intertwined with the tourist village of Esonstad. This photo was taken in January 2025
