About ‘The path disappears’ by Skyfall Iconics

The impressive Fort Louvois, off the coast of Bourcefranc-le-Chapus in the French department of Charente-Maritime, appears at high tide to be a fortress almost entirely surrounded by the sea. The cobbled access road leading to the fort at low tide is already submerged and gradually disappears into the calm expanse of the sea. The black-and-white photograph emphasises the austere architecture of the historic Vauban fortress and creates a tranquil, dramatic atmosphere. An exceptional subject for Fort Louvois, tides, high tide, the French coast, maritime architecture, Vauban and travel photography.
