For some people, contact with others can actually be energising, offering them a source of inspiration, motivation and joy. They thrive on interaction and feel refreshed after social gatherings. However, for others, it can sometimes be overwhelming. They need time to retreat, to reflect, recover and recharge their energy. Being alone gives them a chance to unwind, recover from the demands of social life and organise their thoughts. It is a time of introspection, self-reflection and self-care. It is important to recognise that everyone is different in their need for social contact and time alone, and that both are equally valuable to an individual's well-being.
