About the artwork
"The play of lines in a feather with a water drop" is an abstract macro photograph of a small piece of a brown feather, where I photographed the play of lines in the feather. On this feather is a water drop. This interrupts the pattern of the feather.
The depth of field I chose for taking this picture is very small. This creates a very simple line pattern, with little detail in some places (such as in the bottom left corner) which overflows into places where it becomes detailed (such as in the middle of the photo near the drop), because this is where the focus is. The moment a part of the feather is not at the same distance as the focal point, it fades, both in front of and behind it. This gives depth to the work as well as abstraction: The feather becomes a play of lines. If you zoom in on the work, you can see this.
This work could hang beautifully as wall decoration in, for example, the waiting room, bedroom, hallway or of course just above the sofa!
