About "The great beech"

About the artwork

From my garden, I have a beautiful view of my neighbours' large beech tree. This imposing tree has been through a lot and is now a real eye-catcher. Once there were three of these majestic beeches in their garden, but on 18 June 2021 fate struck. A fall wind raced across Leersum and felled two of the three trees. Only this one beech remained standing proudly, as a silent witness to that violent storm.

I could not resist capturing this tree. I took a photo from my garden, looking up at the impressive branches reaching into the sky like a crown. Then I crawled behind my computer to transform the photo into a digital artwork. I wanted to show not only the strength and grandeur of the beech, but also the history and resilience it symbolises.

The end result is an artwork that for me is more than just a picture of a tree. It tells a story about forces of nature, loss and perseverance. Every time I look at the big beech tree, I am reminded how impressive and powerful nature is - and how grateful I am that this tree is still there.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
