About ‘The girl with her pearls.’ by Sara Milani

This picture was taken of a Delft girl in Delft. Just a few streets away from the house of painter Johannes Vermeer. And of course inspired by Johannes Vermeer's work "Girl with a Pearl Earring". A few years ago, there was a photo competition in Delft with the subject "Girl with a Pearl Earring". I took this picture for that, submitted it, but never heard back. Now three years later (2023), the Mauritshuis in The Hague, where the Girl with the Pearl Earring has its home, is asking for entries of the girl. This is because Johannes Vermeer's original is moving to the Rijksmuseum for a few months. Out of 3500 submissions, THIS girl has now been chosen to show off for a week in the Vermeer Room at the Mauritshuis. We are prouder than proud. And because we really like it that more people will enjoy this picture, it is now available for sale for your wall here.
