Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.

About ‘The desolate beauty of Kolmanskop, Namibia’ by Antwan Janssen

Deep in the Namib Desert lies Kolmanskop, a ghost town that once flourished during the diamond rush of the early 20th century. What was once a prosperous German settlement is now a surreal landscape where sand slowly swallows up the abandoned houses.

The weathered walls, half-buried rooms and broken windows tell the story of an era of wealth and sudden decay. The silence that hangs over the town makes the atmosphere even more impressive - as if the echoes of the past are still whispering through the dusty corridors.

This photo captures the mysterious beauty of Kolmanskop - a place where time stands still and nature slowly reclaims its territory.

I am Antwan Janssen, travel and nature photographer from Uden. During my many travels on this globe I try to capture all the beauty on photo. As you can see on this site my preference goes to landscapes, wildlife but also to the local population, mostly abroad but certainly also in our beautiful Netherlands. In recent years, several of my photos have won awards in both national and international photo competitions.
