Baronie is an internationally operating producer of chocolate and confectionery. The head office of the Baronie Group with the parent company Sweet Products is located in Veurne, Belgium. Baronie was originally a Dutch chocolate factory that was founded in 1920 in Rotterdam by Marinus Barents, Antonie de Rot and Egbert Nieuwenhuis. The company name is an acronym that is composed of the first letters of the names Barents, de Rot and Nieuwenhuis.

Baronie produces Baronie, Baronie - De Heer, Baronie UK, Stollwerck and Chocolat Alprose at ten production locations in five European countries: Baronie, Baronie UK, Stollwerck and Chocolat Alprose, cocoa, chocolate and confectionery such as flat chocolate, chocolate bars, chocolates (pralines), truffles, dragees, nibble products. specialties (eg cat tongues), seasonal products (chocolate letters, Easter eggs, etc.) and Belgian and Swiss chocolate. Baronie also manufactures products for foreign brands (co-manufacturing) and supplies discount stores in the Benelux, France, Germany and Canada.

In 2001 the Chocolate Factory closes in Alphen aan de Rijn.
