How best to describe the town of Colmar in Alsace, France? It is like walking into a huge open-air museum, or Disneyland or a Grimm's fairy tale. Either way a visit to this place is unforgettable: so many beautifully coloured half-timbered houses, facades, gates, doors, balconies and shutters. Some more beautiful than others. And then also in every street and on every corner. At every turn, you are surprised all over again. Your camera will be working overtime here. You can wander around for hours enjoying all this beauty. And I am only talking about the old buildings. The various museums, religious buildings and cosy squares with restaurants are also worth a visit. Highly recommended!
