The Utrecht University Library is the library for the academic information of Utrecht University. In 1636, the year Utrecht University was founded, the Utrecht City Library on Janskerkhof also became the University Library. In 1820, the University Library moved to the former palace of King Louis Napoleon on Wittevrouwenstraat. Over time, as the university grew, the collection became dispersed over several branches in the city of Utrecht. This photo was taken at dusk on 10 October 2012. Dark Utrecht.
