Leeuwarden is an ancient city in the north of the Netherlands and also the capital of the province of Friesland. Leeuwarden was formed in the Middle Ages from three mound villages, which were joined together. City walls were built around these villages and the area between them was reclaimed and made suitable for city building. So was the area around the Nieuwestad. In this area a network of canals was constructed and a Stadswaag was built, which still stands today. Until today, this beautiful scales is a landmark in Leeuwarden, and especially in the evening you can see the beautifully lit City Scales of Leeuwarden. This photo is very unique and is not available anywhere else. For every purebred Liwwadder this is a photo that really has to hang in your house. What are you waiting for?
