These old tree trunks emerged from the fog like ghosts on this cold and misty winter morning. I decided to create a high key image of them because of the wintery conditions and their pale appearance from the dense fog. These trees are old and mighty and the one with the most character is no longer alive and it is heartbreaking to know that he will probably soon not be there anymore. The other tree is barely alive, but with its grey bark a joy to behold. The remnants of the snow were still visible, but an hour later it was gone and the scene became gloomy rather than bright and magical. The fog became denser and denser and at one point I could not see these trees anymore. I took a photograph of them completely vanishing in the mist, but this one seems more hopeful
