About ‘The Slufter in the Morning’ by Mr White Takes Pictures
Early one morning in August, I looked out from the slufter on the Wadden Island of Texel towards the lighthouse. The sun had just risen and was not yet shining very brightly, giving the colours of the vegetation a soft glow. In the distance on the horizon, the Eierlander lighthouse can be seen in a hazy silhouette.

I am Martijn Wit and I like to photograph nature in my neighbourhood, but I also love to capture the city and the night. I love the play of light in combination with the vintage lenses I use. I like doing macro and close-up photography, so I often lie on my stomach among the bushes. My focus is often on the tranquillity that, if you look closely, can be found everywhere.
