The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk is the current standard medium-weight transport helicopter of the US military. It is used for flying in airborne troops and supplies, aerial assaults, command and emergency medical evacuations. The aircraft is designed to carry 11 fully packed soldiers and a 105 mm howitzer with 30 shells. The Black Hawk was first deployed in the invasion of the island of Grenada in 1983. This was followed by missions in Panama, Asia, Somalia. Haiti, Bosnia and Iraq.
