The Moor of Silence – Between Mist and Evening Light by AidasignArt

This atmospheric work transports the viewer to a surreal mountain landscape in which the boundaries between reality and dream seem to blur. The slightly impasto painting style lends the scene a vivid, almost tangible surface and emphasises the primal power of nature.

In the foreground, a flat, moss-covered raised bog stretches out. A narrow stream winds its way through the landscape, between small stones and damp riverbanks. Two striking, gnarled and twisted old tree stumps with widely exposed roots rise up from it. On the left-hand side stands a dead, weathered tree, like a silent witness to times gone by.

Behind it stretches a dense coniferous forest of firs and spruces. A fine mist hangs between the trees, causing the forest to gradually fade into the distance. Towering above this mysterious woodland landscape are majestic, rugged mountain peaks, their snow-covered flanks shrouded in patches of cloud.

In the sky, the low-hanging sun breaks through the clouds in warm shades of orange, gold and yellow. Its light falls over the mountains, the forest and the moor, shimmering as it is reflected in the water.

A work from the series ‘In the Breath of the Mountains – Mist, Light and Silence’ about transience, primal nature and the quiet beauty of an unspoilt mountain world
