About ‘The Milky Way over an abandoned copper mine’ by Martijn Jacobs

During my vacation in Portugal, I of course could not resist going out one evening/night to photograph the Milky Way. In the Alentejo there are still quite a few places where it is very dark (at least many times darker than in the Netherlands).

The preparations for this night outing were very extensive. Hours, maybe days of scouting work online to finally find this location. An abandoned copper mine in the Alentejo called Minas de Sao Domingos. After contacting some local photographers, the plan was ready.

Luck was on my side because the only night I could it was very clear. This is the result of days of long preparation and a very short night's sleep.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
