As a photographer, I had once said that I would never succeed in photographing such a bird.... Either I didn't have the camera, or I didn't have the right lens, or it was raining, or too kopud, too hot, OMG when is the right time then I thought. Then on that one day when luck was on my side, I booked a whole day in a bird hide with the idea of seeing squirrels, or once a Sparrowhawk, Goshawk, you name it. Turned out, however, that these had all taken a day off as none of them passed by! Until finally I was about to give up and was eating sandwich number 6 out of boredom, when a Kingfisher came and sat right in front of my colleague's lens, the little bird stayed put for at least the full 2 seconds so I didn't even have time to drop my sandwich anywhere and aim my lens, so NO Kingfisher for me while my colleague proudly presented his result... But perseverance wins, I said, and yes, he came back and posed in full glory in front of my lens, more than that, he dived into the water to have his meal all this "just in front of me". Herewith, my first Kingfisher...
