About ‘The Jacobite Steam Train - Passing Glenfinnan Viaduct’ by Rolf Schnepp
The Jacobite on its way from Fort William to Mallaig. It also passes the beautiful Glenfinnan Viaduct. The route is only travelled once a day in each direction, so photographically everything has to fit at the first go. The excitement grows quickly when you see the big cloud of steam in the distance, with which the train announces itself.

Photography is painting with light. According to this motto, my pictures are created, whether as a long exposure or simply in the first or last light of the day.
Photography is more than a mere reproduction of reality. My pictures tell stories, create moods.
Many of my pictures have been awarded at international photo competitions.
