About the artwork

The hoopoe is easily recognized by its reddish-brown plumage with a long black-pointed crest, which can be raised when the bird is excited. The tail and wings are black and marked with broad white stripes. The bill is long and thin. A notable feature is the pronounced stench that the animal spreads because, on the one hand, the nest is never cleaned (food waste and manure are left behind) and, on the other hand, because the female has a gland at the base of her tail, which spreads a heavy stench during the breeding season. A nickname for the hoopoe is therefore drekhaan. The hoopoe is an insectivorous meadow bird. The call of the hoopoe sounds like hoep, hoep, and although the sound is not loud, it is still audible from a great distance. The length is 26 to 28 cm and the weight 75 grams. The hoopoe is found mainly in temperate and subtropical Europe from open forests to grassy steppes and desert environments. The Iberian Peninsula is by far the most important breeding area. Hoopes are found mostly in stony areas, on walls and around ruins. They winter in southern Europe and Africa.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
