The Helper is a polder mill on the eastern shore of the Paterswoldsemeer in the municipality of Groningen.
The mill was built in 1863 south of the city of Groningen to drain the Helpman polder using a screw pump. The mill fell into disuse in the sixties of the 20th century. Due to the expansion of the city of Groningen and the construction of the A28 motorway, the windmill was demolished at its original location in 1969 and rebuilt at the Paterswoldsemeer in 1971. The drainage is now in a circuit for water circulation of the ditches on the east side of the lake. The mill is in operation on a voluntary basis.
