About ‘The Harbour Mouth’ by Tymn Lintell

Looking at this canvas, I hope you can sense the joyful chaos of Lyme Regis harbour on a summer morning - boats of every size coming and going, each one seeking or leaving that comforting arc of safety.

That bold semi-circle isn't just compositional - it's the protective arm every sailor recognises, the curve of harbour walls that promise shelter from open water.

I've watched this dance for decades from Dorset's harbours - Weymouth, Lyme Regis, West Bay - where fishing boats, pleasure craft, and sailing dinghies negotiate the narrow entrance in perpetual motion.

The layered transparency technique I use here captures multiple arrivals and departures compressed into one moment, creating that sense of constant maritime activity even while the image stays still.

What moves me most is the universal symbolism - the harbour mouth as threshold between adventure and home, risk and security. The bright, confident colours (reds, blues, yellows, greens) reflect the optimism of boats heading out and the relief of safe return.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
