About ‘The Groote Polder mill’ by Marga Vroom
The mill of the Groote Polder is an eight-sided polder mill in Slochteren in the province of Groningen. Until 1975 the mill had no name and was simply called by the name in which it stood and that was the Groote Polder. In 1975 it was renamed De Groote Polder. The mill is the oldest existing mill in the province of Groningen.
